Madekwe was born in South London, England into a family of mixed blood. Her mother and father are both English. Her family was lived in a housing estate run by the council in the south of London. At the age 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where she gained an acting BA. During her time at the school, she was a part-time actor in a number of stage productions such as the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career through a short film called Storm Damage. She has since made appearances in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer was that of the Woody Allen 2007 film Cassandra's Dream. She starred with Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. After this success, Madekwe played Elisha in the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as in six episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. In 2008, she was cast as Bambi, the lead role on ITV2's show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was raised in a big family from Hamilton, Ontario. She joined her parents, Roy and Patty and four older brothers: Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball fields because her brothers, who were all athletic, were hockey players, baseball players, and basketball in spring and summer. Ashley could never walk, but she danced. As she was two and a half, she began Baby Ballet and fell in the love. Ashley was enthralled by dance immediately after that. Ashley continued to compete throughout high school in top divisions such as ballet, tap, Jazz, Pointe, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop and many more. Additionally, she was awarded best soloist awards at all major dance contests, like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
