The film was widely lauded by critics in addition to the performance of the entire team (which included Kevin Bacon and Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise and Ed Harris), and Kathleen Quinlan. The film was nominated for nine Academy Awards, and it was awarded two. Hanks was the voice of Sheriff Woody in Disney/Pixar's 1995 computer-animated film Toy Story (1995). He made his directorial debut one year later with the film You Do! The story follows the fall and rise of a 1960s rock band. Hanks also takes on the role of a music producer. Time magazine's Richard Schickel described his performance as "charming" and most reviewers agreed with the fact that Hanksperformance has earned him a place among the top romantic comedy actors of his time.
